NEW DELHI: Several tourists were injured on Tuesday following a suspected terrorist attack in the Baisaran Valley area of Pahalgam, located in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said, as quoted by news agency PTI.
Gunshots were reportedly heard in the valley, a popular tourist destination often referred to as “mini-Switzerland,” prompting immediate deployment of security forces to the area. The site is accessible only by foot or horseback, making the rescue and response efforts more challenging.
Officials have confirmed injuries among tourists, though the extent is yet to be fully determined.
